1) 6 slices of P28 Bread 2) 1 bottle of Kraft Light BBQ Sauce 3) 1 medium sweet yellow onion 4) 1 jar pickled jalapeño 5) 1 package Sargento reduced fat pepper jack cheese 6) 1 package of turkey bacon 7) Olive oil 8) 1.5 pounds 93% lean ground beef
Instructions:
1) Pre-heat your oven to Broil on high. The rack should be on the second shelf in your oven, if you put it too close you will have a burnt burger on the outside and a raw burger on the inside. 2) While the oven heats form 3 patties with the ground beef and place on a plate. Form a small indention with your thumb in the middle of each patty and then cover them with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. These two steps will ensure your patties remain together while cooking. 3) Chop the onion into small slices and put in a skillet over medium high heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. 4) While the onion browns place your burger patties onto a broil pan and place in the oven for 5 minutes*. 5) Flip the burgers using a spatula or tongs, do not use a fork as that will let all of the juices out from the meat and you will be left with a hockey puck for dinner. 6) While the burgers cook for the second 5 minutes place a paper towel on a microwave safe dish and place 3 strip of the turkey bacon on it. Cover with another paper towel and microwave on high for 2 minutes for crispy bacon*. 7) When the burger timer goes off place 1 slice of cheese on each burger and place in oven for 30 seconds to let the cheese melt. Once the cheese is melted remove from the oven. 8) Toast the P28 Bread so that it is nice and crispy. 9) Top 1 slice of P28 Bread with the burger patty, add 1 strip of the turkey bacon, and top with your desired amount of jalapeños. On the other slice of P28 Bread spoon 1 tablespoon of BBQ sauce and top with 1/3 of your browned onions. Repeat for other 2 burgers. 10) Combine your two slices and enjoy a delicious guilt free burger!
*Cooking times will vary with your oven and microwave
